From the South, East or the West: -
Leave the M60 (Formerly M62) at Junction
15 where it becomes the M61
Keep in the right-hand lanes – sign-posted A666 Bolton
Ignore the first exit - for Farnworth and the 2nd exit – for Raikes Lane
Industrial Estate
About half a mile after Raikes Lane is the exit you want – sign-posted
A586 to Bury
At the top of the slip road turn right, following signs to Bury. After about
400 metres turn right at a set of traffic lights
– down Castle Street
Stay on this road for about a mile and you will enter Darcy Lever village
As you go (slowly!) through the village the road goes
uphill with the Farmers Arms pub on your left. Near the top of the hill, where
the road bends to the right, Bembridge Drive is to the left
Para 8. Take the left turn along Bembridge Drive and, after about 80 metres, turn right down Gorses Road
This is a single-track road across a railway
bridge. After you have crossed the bridge follow the road as it turns
sharply to the left and the entrance to the car park for Bolton Flat Green
Bowling Club is on the right after 100 metres.
From the North: -
Leave the M61 at Junction 6 and take the
A6027 sign-posted to Horwich and Bolton North
At the very end of the dual-carriageway, with the Beehive pub across the
round-a-bout, turn right
At the next set of traffic lights (after 1.5 miles) turn left along the A58
ring road
You follow the ring road for 5 miles until you join the A586 to Bury at a set
of traffic lights
At the next set of lights you turn right down Long Lane. Leverhulme Park is on
your right. Go slowly over the speed humps! Watch for the new Athletics Stadium
on the right and, some 400 metres after the stadium, turn right at the traffic lights – into
